About Astera Online

Astera Online is a seasonal multiplayer strategy game played in the browser. You take command of a protected capital, build an economy, study the galaxy, and decide when your fleet is ready to leave safe space.

A galaxy built around incomplete information

You can see where another commander has settled, but their resources, defences, and fleet are not handed to you. A probe can reveal more, and every mission has an opportunity cost. The central decision is therefore larger than choosing the strongest ship: you decide what you know, what you are willing to risk, and whether the possible gain is worth exposing your own position.

The same uncertainty shapes peaceful play. Meteors can be mined for additional resources, pirates can be challenged for loot, and colonies can expand production. Time spent on one path is time you cannot spend on another, so an efficient economy and clear priorities matter throughout a season.

Seasons keep the frontier competitive

Each galaxy runs as a season. Commanders begin from the same broad starting point, grow during the active period, and compete on a shared map. Seasonal resets prevent permanent stockpiles from deciding every future match. They also let returning players change their plan instead of inheriting years of irreversible choices.

Your first day includes protection from attacks by other players. Starting an attack against another commander ends that protection early, and the game asks before you make that commitment. Mining, research, construction, and fighting pirates let a new commander learn the economy without spending the shield.

Choices are readable before you commit

Construction and research show their costs and time. Fleet missions show travel, cargo, and risk information before launch. Combat can destroy ships on both sides, even when an attack succeeds, so Astera is designed around deliberate commitments rather than rapid taps. The game can be played on a phone or desktop and does not require an installation.

New visitors can open a short training galaxy before creating an account. The rehearsal explains the main surfaces with no permanent reward. If the game is a fit, a commander name and password keep progress available on another browser.
