Radiation & ship damage

Estimate ship damage on the outbound and return routes. Learn how time in radiation clouds affects survival and repairs.

How it works

Ships inside radiation clouds take damage over time. Clouds can affect outbound flights, returns and fleets holding monuments. Existing damage matters: a ship can be destroyed before it reaches its target.

Overlapping clouds can add damage. Launch and recall previews estimate it using the known route and current clouds. Slower flights can spend longer in a cloud even when their fuel cost stays the same.

Your next decision

Check expected health at arrival and on return. You need enough survivors to fight and carry resources home. A fleet that starts undamaged may still lose ships or cargo on the route.

Read the radiation-loss confirmation before launching. Heavily damaged survivors need the Repair Station. Reports distinguish radiation damage from damage caused by combat.
